My name is Somya. I craft experiences by making tech humane.

Presently I am a design lead at Microsoft and I make tools for responsible futures on the side.

I design at the intersection of people, business & technology. Over a dozen years, I have helped global & Indian organisations pivot, scale, and transform. I have designed digital products across industries & mediums, managed design teams, and mentored design students.

I work as a Design & Research Principal at Microsoft, and previously I was a Design Lead at ThoughtWorks where I drove digital transformation for enterprises and designed for social impact ✊🏽

To foster the local design community, I drove IxDA’s Delhi Chapter. I have shared my learnings with the community at DesignUp’19, Interaction’17 in the past. Trained as an Architect & Industrial Designer, I draw my inspiration from poetics of form & spaces. I am often found in casual conversations with pen, paper & design learners. I write stories on creativity, design & travel but yet to get regular with it 🤞🏽

I graduated with a Masters in Industrial Design from School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi in 2007. I have been a visiting faculty at my Alma Mater for 6 years 👩‍🏫
